Why is it important to have a Staywell Program for our UEA members?

"We spend most of our day at school in a giving & serving capacity. It’s important that we maintain the balance in our lives and replenish our spirits. It is the goal of our wellness programs to help our members stay physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy. It’s a win-win for everyone….lower health care costs; greater productivity; and happier staff."

-Nancy Smith

"The importance of a Staywell program is two-fold. First, it provides camaraderie for members to stay healthy and active. Secondly, healthy and active people generally keep their insurance costs down, allowing the district to keep our MESSA insurance coverage. I find that being involved with the committee is very rewarding."

-Denise Hirschmann

"Teachers spend most of their day taking care of others. We can be the best at our job and all we do, if first, we take time to care for ourselves!"

Leslie Montgomery

"I believe promoting a healthy lifestyle at our workplace will reap many rewards. Not only will we be good role models for the students we teach, but our employer will reap the financial benefit of healthier employees. Promoting fun, healthy promotions at our workplace, gives all of us a "no excuses" reason to get and stay healthier."
